A glimpse into the lives surrounding the train tracks

Myanmar, also known as Burma, is more famous for its traditional cultural heritage and political situation than for its booming underground hip-hop scene. Yet, the capital Yangon is home to countless rap groups and graffiti crews, and the hardcore hip-hop culture is immensely popular all over the streets of the city. The following pictures aim to give an overview of this reality often ignored by mainstream media

Hà Giang is a highly mountainous region containing the northernmost point of Vietnam, and sharing border with China. Boris has been riding his bike in this magnificient province since 2006. He immediatly started to capture faces on 4x5 inches Polaroids, giving those back through the magic process Polaroid instant films offer : most of the time, these unique prints were given to the locals he met along the road (some of them did never even see their picture), leaving a trace of his apparition.   Without speaking any language, using gestual and other forms of communications, Boris goes through intense meetings with his encounters, sharing a part of his work all along his path.
